The Great Fire of London
To celebrate the end of out Great Fire of London theme, the children put together their Tudor houses they had created to show how the streets of London were so narrow back in 1666 - This is why the fire spread so quickly.
It all started in a bakery when Thomas Farriner left the oven door open.
Over 300 houses were set on fire, but only 6 people died. As a result of the fire lots of rats died which carried terrible diseases such as the plague.
We now have better houses made out of bricks and other strong materials to prevent fires spreading.
We have a modern day fire service which came as a result of the great fire of London.
